The production process of thermal label paper mainly includes the following steps:

First, raw material preparation

Base material: Usually using polyester film.

Coating: mainly heat sensitive coating, composed of color forming agent, color developing agent, sensitizer, stabilizer, binder, pigment, lubricant and other substances.

Backing paper: Using paper as the bottom layer.

Second, coating link

First pre-coat coating: The base paper is coated with a relatively coarse particle size coating for the first pre-coat to form a heat-sensitive coating. The main components of the coating are colorless dyes, phenols or other acidic substances, which are separated by thin films.

Second precoat coating (optional) : In some cases, a second precoat with a relatively fine particle size coating is required to form a protective layer. This layer improves the water, oil and friction resistance of the thermal paper.

Topcoat coating (optional) : Topcoat is applied over the second pre-coat to further enhance the performance of the thermal paper.

Third, dry treatment

After coating, the heat-sensitive label paper needs to be sent to the drying chamber for drying. After drying, the solvent in the coating will evaporate, so that the label paper can be directly used in the next processing process.

Four, cutting links

The label paper is cut by the cutting machine to the required shape and size. According to the actual needs, you can choose different cutting methods.

5. Technical principles

The production of heat-sensitive label paper depends on heat-sensitive technology. The thermal layer contains some reactive substances, and under the heating of the thermal head, the reactive substances will decompose, making the pigment color, so as to print the corresponding text and pattern.
